Rhizoctonia

Symptoms:
• Overall wilting
• Sharp margin between brown infected & white healthy tissue
• Infected roots & tap roots (older seedlings)

Epidemiology:
• Favored by warm temperatures (68-91° F)
• Grows between 54-95° F
• Does not require high soil moisture, but is severe in heavy, poorly drained soils or wet areas

Control:
• Seed treatments are available
• In-furrow fungicide applications at planting
• Plant in cool, well drained soils
• Avoid excessive soil moisture
• Avoid following corn or beans
