Aphanomyces Root Rot

Symptoms:
• Water-soaked lesions of tan-yellow color
• Older lesions with light-medium brown color
• Advanced, deep cracks
• Superficial lesions result in stunting of root & rotting of root tip in younger plants

Epidemiology:
• Soil-borne, survives in crop residue
• Favored by warm temperatures (68-86° F) and wet conditions

Control:
• Seed treatment to protect seedlings and prevent latent infection
• Spent lime application
• Irrigation management
• Improve drainage
