Twospotted Spider Mite

Symptoms:
• Stippling of leaves caused by piercing and sucking the cell content
• Continuous feeding results in silvering and bronzing of leaves
• Distinct webbing on the underside of leaves

Epidemiology:
• Temperature of 55-63° F
• Hot, dry (35-40% relative humidity) weather favors rapid population

Description:
• 0.4-0.5 mm long with 8 legs and 2 distinct black spots
• Their color can range from yellow to yellow-green to green-brown

Control:
• Scouting and miticide applications
